A Scott Plant Hire invest in Forestry Mulcher

"I returned to HHH again due to the great service I've received"

Stonehaven based A Scott Plant Hire returned to HHH after investing in their original flail from us back in 2015. The original model, a Ghedini DB36 had given great service and opened the doors for the Stonehaven firm to get into a variety of mulching work.  

Fast forward four years to 2019, A Scott Plant Hire have outgrown their first flail after growing their business with a can do attitude and a reputation for a high standard of work. Numerous discussions were had back and fore about specification, Allan Scott decided to take our advice and indeed the advice of his gut, make no compromises, now, its time to go all out! A full spec Forestry Mulcher was ordered! 

Understanding the ever more demanding work that Allan was gaining and being familiar with the terrain we specified the new Femac T9 mulcher to come with the 1050mm DF rotor, this rotor comes complete with fixed teeth for maximum cutting ability while still producing a chip product with a large surface area to aid biodegradation.

Also added was a custom "walking leg" an item which we are very familiar with, the legs geometry was designed to work in every position of the machine and mulcher allowing Allan to pull or lower the machine on steep ground.

In what has become the HHH way, the Mulcher was delivered to site and setup onto the JCB 100C Excavator however it was apparent we could improve the setup further. On-site, using one of our fully equipped service vehicles we modified the walking leg to accomodate the hydraulic hoses to hide them away from damage. A true testiment to the extent we'll go to ensuring the best install in the business.

Allan Scott said "My original flail has served me well, so well in fact that I've kept it. Running costs however were getting high as I was pushing the limits of a flail and knew i had to invest in a Forestry Mulcher. I'm very impressed with what the T9 can handle with its fixed tooth rotor while the walking leg has been a savior in wet and steep areas."
